My first letter to you...

As I sit down to write this to you, I am filled with indescribable emotion! Your father and I are so excited to be expecting a son or daughter! You are all we think about. You are 14 weeks today and starting to hurt my back! You are already about 3.5 inches long and starting to make faces! You can even suck your thumb and grab things! Sleeping hasn't been a problem yet but I hear that we're in for some sleepless nights soon :(  Our next doctor appointment is in 2 weeks. So far we have only had one ultrasound and everything was perfect. You scared me about a week ago. I was having really sharp pains and bad migraines. When we went to the doctor to check on you, we had a hard time finding the heart beat! But the doctor assured me that was because you were so playful!! He said you were moving around the womb so much they couldn't locate your tiny little heart! When he finally found you and we heard that strong 162 beat, I couldn't help but cry. You are my world and I can't wait to meet you! Only 26 more weeks. I feel like time is simply creeping by.

I'm starting to get extremely forgetful (even more so than usual). Most people call it "baby brain", I call it frustrating! It is making nursing school a little more difficult, but you are worth every bit of it. I can't wait to start feeling you move around inside. I felt these strange little bubbles the other day. It felt like little flutters inside my stomach. I can't be certain, but I'm hoping it was you! I was at work with your grandma and she said I looked as if I'd just won the lottery! I've been waiting to feel you kick and play around for weeks and those little flutters just came out of no where!! Your daddy is taking good care of us and making sure we have everything we need. Im still losing weight but you are getting everything you need and I'm honored to be able to provide you with everything you need. I've been getting hungrier more often but still don't have much of an appetite. I'm happy that you do tho! You keep growing and I promise to do my best to give you as much food as you need (and not throw it up!)

So far life with you has been a fairy tale! We can't wait to find out if you are a little boy or girl. We will be so happy with either, but I can't wait to call you by your name and read you stories and hold you and kiss you! You are truly a miracle, a gift from God that I will cherish forever.
